Campaign types and how to join them

Collab, affiliate, performance and contest campaigns, what each pays, and how you get selected.

Brands run four kinds of campaign. They pay very differently, so check the type before you apply.

TypeHow you are paidGood for
CollabA fixed fee per creator, agreed up front and held until the work is approvedPredictable income
Collab (barter or gifted)Product instead of cash. No payout is releasedCreators building a portfolio
AffiliateCommission on sales you drive through your link or codeCreators with buying audiences
Performance / bountyPaid on measured results, for example views or conversionsCreators with reliable reach
ContestPrizes for the best entries, not everyone is paidHigh-upside, high-risk

Barter, gifted and affiliate campaigns release no cash payout

On those types the brand marks the collaboration complete rather than releasing money. If you need cash, filter for paid collab or performance campaigns.

Once approved it becomes a collaboration with its own workflow.

Before you accept, check

  • Usage rights: how long the brand can run your content as an ad, and where.
  • Exclusivity: whether you are blocked from working with competitors, and for how long.
  • Revisions: how many rounds are included.
  • Deadline: whether the live date is realistic for your posting schedule.
