Monetisation

What is Usage rights?

Usage rights define how, where, and for how long a brand can use a creator’s content, such as on organic social only, in paid ads, or across all channels, and are priced separately from content creation.

Creators charge more when a brand wants to run their content as paid ads (paid usage) or use it for an extended period.

Clear usage terms protect both sides and are a standard part of UGC and influencer contracts.

Price usage on three variables: the channels the content can run on, how long the licence lasts, and the territory it covers. Perpetual worldwide rights across paid and organic is the most expensive version and the one brands ask for by default. Creators who quote a shorter initial term with a renewal fee usually earn more over the life of a good asset than those who sell it outright once.
