What is Linktree?
Linktree is a link in bio tool that creates a single landing page holding all of your links, so you can work around the one-link limit on Instagram and TikTok profiles. It has a free plan, with paid tiers from around $5 per month.
Launched in 2016, Linktree is the tool that made “link in bio” a common phrase. You claim a username, get a linktr.ee/yourname URL, add your links as stacked buttons, and paste that one URL into your social profiles. Setup takes about two minutes and needs no website or domain.
The free plan covers unlimited links, themes, and basic click counts, which is enough if the page exists to route people somewhere else. Paid tiers add link scheduling, deeper analytics, custom domains, and commerce. The detail most comparisons skip is the transaction fee: selling through the cheaper plans carries a percentage cut on each sale, so a busy sales month can cost more than any subscription in the category.
Linktree is the category default rather than the most capable option. Tools built around creator commerce, including Elev8or Bio, Stan, and Beacons, put checkout on the bio page itself instead of sending buyers to a third-party cart. That matters most on TikTok and Instagram, where links open in an in-app browser and every extra redirect costs you a share of the people who tapped.
