Influencer marketing

What is Mega-influencer?

A mega-influencer is a creator or celebrity with over 1 million social media followers, typically commanding the highest brand deal rates and broadest campaign reach.

Mega-influencers include mainstream celebrities, top-tier YouTubers, and viral social stars. Their audience scale can drive mass awareness for a brand launch or product release, but the cost per post can run into five or six figures.

Despite the large reach, mega-influencers often see lower engagement rates relative to follower count compared to smaller creators. Brands paying premium rates should track CPM and conversion metrics carefully to assess true ROI.

Most mega-influencer deals involve talent agencies and formal contracts. Brands working with smaller creators through platforms like Elev8or can often achieve better cost-per-engagement by distributing the same budget across multiple micro or macro creators.
