Creator marketing

What is Brand deal?

A brand deal is a paid agreement between a creator and a brand where the creator produces and publishes content featuring the brand's product or service in exchange for money, product, or both.

Brand deals range from a single sponsored post to long-term ambassador arrangements spanning months. The key elements are: deliverables (what content, how many, on which platforms), compensation (flat fee, commission, or product), timeline, usage rights, and disclosure requirements.

Getting brand deals has historically required an agent or years of cold outreach. Creator platforms now let creators with even modest followings attract inbound deals if their niche, engagement, and media kit are compelling to brands.

Creators should treat every brand deal as a business transaction. Get the terms in writing, clarify revision rounds, confirm payment schedule, and keep FTC disclosure obligations in mind. Verbal agreements over DM are not enforceable.
