Messaging, chat and keeping a record
Where conversations happen, what to keep on-platform, and why it matters when something goes wrong.
Conversations live at Messages, and each collaboration also has its own thread on the collab page. Use the collab thread for anything about that specific piece of work.
What belongs on-platform
- Anything about price, deliverables, deadlines, usage rights or exclusivity.
- Revision notes and approvals.
- Files, drafts and reference material.
- Anything you would want a third party to be able to read if the deal went sideways.
This is the single most common cause of unresolvable disputes
Terms agreed over WhatsApp, Instagram DM or personal email leave no record on Elev8or. Support cannot arbitrate what it cannot see, and escrow cannot protect a deal it was never part of. Agree in the collab thread, even if you chat elsewhere.
Etiquette that gets you more work
- Reply within a day. Both sides can see how responsive the other is, and slow replies lose deals.
- Put the whole ask in one message rather than five fragments.
- Confirm agreed changes in writing, even ones settled on a call.
Report abusive behaviour from the conversation or contact support with the thread details.
