TikTok Average Views Calculator

Work out the average views per video for any TikTok account, then read that number as a view rate against what accounts of the same size actually get. Autofill from a public username or type your own numbers.

Public accounts only. Nothing is stored, and you can edit every number after it loads.

Add up the view counts on your last 10-12 videos and enter the total. A single viral post skews any smaller sample.

How to calculate average views on TikTok

Average views = total views across your recent videos divided by the number of videos counted. Use the last 10 to 12 posts rather than an all-time figure: TikTok distribution changes fast, and a single old hit distorts everything behind it.

The number that actually matters to brands is the view rate, which is average views divided by followers. It is the only version of the metric that compares two accounts of different sizes fairly, and it is the reason a 8,000-follower creator pulling 12,000 views per post gets paid more per follower than a 300,000-follower account pulling 40,000.

How to see your views on TikTok

  • Per video: the play count shows on the thumbnail in your profile grid.
  • Across the account: Profile, then the menu, then Creator tools, then Analytics, then Overview for a 7, 28 or 60-day view total.
  • A view counts the moment playback starts, and replays count too, which is why TikTok view rates run far above Instagram.
  • TikTok does not name who watched a video. Profile view history is a separate opt-in feature and covers profile visits only, never video views.

Average TikTok views by follower count

These are the view rate ranges we see across creator campaigns on Elev8or in 2026. They are directional, not a guarantee. Niche, posting frequency and format mix all move them.

Why average views drop

  • Follower growth outpacing reach. The same views spread over a bigger audience reads as a falling view rate.
  • Format mix. Switching from short hooks to longer posts changes completion rate, and completion drives distribution.
  • Posting gaps. Reach compounds off recent performance, so a two-week break resets more than it looks like it should.
  • Inflated followers. Bought or inactive followers never watch anything, so they drag the view rate down permanently.

If the view rate looks far below its tier, check the account for inactive followers with the fake follower checker, then compare engagement with the TikTok engagement rate calculator.

TikTok average views FAQs

How do you calculate average views on TikTok?

Total the play counts on your last 10 to 12 videos and divide by the number of videos. TikTok reach is spikier than any other platform, so a 10-video rolling average is the smallest sample that says anything useful, and one viral video should be read separately rather than averaged in.

What is a good average view count on TikTok?

Read views as a share of followers. Accounts under 10,000 followers typically average 60-180% of their follower count per video, 10K-50K run 45-150%, 50K-500K run 35-120% and accounts above 1M run 20-80%. TikTok rates sit far above Instagram because the feed serves videos to non-followers by default.

How do I see my total views on TikTok?

Open your profile, then the menu, then Creator tools, then Analytics. The Overview tab gives total video views for the last 7, 28 or 60 days. Per-video play counts also show on each thumbnail in your profile grid.

What counts as a view on TikTok?

A view is counted the moment a video starts playing, with no minimum watch time, and replays count as additional views. That is why TikTok view counts run much higher than Instagram reel views for the same audience size.

Can you see who viewed your TikTok video?

No. TikTok never names video viewers. Profile view history is a separate opt-in feature that shows who visited your profile in the last 30 days, and it only works while you have it switched on yourself. Video views stay anonymous.

How many views is considered viral on TikTok?

There is no official threshold, but a video pulling more than 10 times the account average is behaving virally, and most creators treat 1 million views as the point where a video is genuinely viral rather than simply overperforming.

How many views do you need to get paid on TikTok?

The Creator Rewards Program requires 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the last 30 days, and it only pays on videos over one minute. Brand deals do not have a view threshold at all, and are paid on reach and engagement rather than platform payouts.
