JoinBrands is legit and it pays. Brands fund jobs, payment is released from escrow after approval, and you withdraw through PayPal. The catch is the fee: 20% comes off every job on the free plan, so a default $60 UGC video nets $48. Fine for first paid reps, thin for anyone with an audience.

How JoinBrands works for creators
JoinBrands is a marketplace where brands post jobs (UGC videos, TikTok and Instagram videos, product images) and creators take them. You do not need a follower minimum. A brand approves your content, closes the job, and payment moves from escrow into your JoinBrands wallet. From there you withdraw to PayPal.
Only one payout method exists: JoinBrands says PayPal is currently its only option. It also checks that the country, state and city on your PayPal account match the address on your JoinBrands profile, so a mismatch blocks the connection until you fix it.
Does JoinBrands pay?
Yes. Pay is released once the brand signs off and the job closes. Then there are three delays to plan around.
- Brand approval. JoinBrands gives no timeframe for how fast a brand must approve content.
- Weekly withdrawal limit. Free accounts can cash out once a week. Creator Pro removes that limit.
- PayPal processing. JoinBrands says payouts can take up to 7 business days.
Not published in the articles we read: a minimum withdrawal amount, a withdrawal fee, and a deadline for brand approval. Check these in the app before you rely on a payout date.
JoinBrands pricing for creators: the 20% fee
Joining is free. The cost is the platform fee, which JoinBrands says is automatically deducted from regular job earnings and performance bonuses before money reaches your wallet. It is 20% on the free plan and 15% on Creator Pro. Express job earnings, tips from brands and product reimbursements carry no fee.
Default rates are listed before the fee. In US dollars: UGC video $60 (floor $50), TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts or Amazon video $100 (floor $50), YouTube full-length $150, lifestyle or product image $25, product-demo image $20, selfie-with-product image $15. Rates are also listed in CAD, GBP, AUD and EUR. Take 20% off each and you get $48 for a UGC video, $80 for a short-form social video and $20 for a lifestyle image.
Levels raise pay, but only on campaigns a brand creates for that level. Basic UGC videos (how-to, unboxing, review, demo) pay 50% more at Level 2 and 100% more at Level 3. Advanced UGC (green screen, B-roll, custom) pays 50% more at Level 2 and 150% more at Level 3. Images pay 30% and 60% more. Social-platform jobs get no uplift. If a brand does not post a level-specific campaign, everyone is paid the Level 1 rate.
Is Creator Pro worth $49.95 a month?
Creator Pro cuts the fee by 5 points. On a $60 UGC job that saves $3. At $49.95 a month you need about 17 UGC jobs a month to break even on the fee alone, or about 14 on the yearly $41.25 a month rate. On $100 social-video jobs the saving is $5, so about 10 jobs on the monthly plan. Pro also gives unlimited withdrawals, early job access (one hour before free creators) and priority support.
If you do not land double-digit jobs a month, stay free. If you do, the weekly withdrawal limit and early access matter more than the fee saving. JoinBrands also says paying Creator Academy members who sign up with the same email get Creator Pro, so check that page for current terms before paying twice.
JoinBrands reviews: what people report
Trustpilot shows 4.4 out of 5 from 289 reviews, with 82% five-star and 7% one-star, as of November 2026. Most reviewers praise easy payouts. One says the payout process is "super easy." The complaints we read came mostly from brands: a pay-as-you-go bill with no content delivered, and disputes over refunds when creators cancel after buying product.
The one creator-side complaint we found on that page was lost job invitations: a creator said invitations disappeared before they could accept. That fits how marketplaces work. Jobs are limited and fill fast, which is why Creator Pro sells an hour of early access. We did not read G2 or app-store pages directly, so we are not citing their scores.
Pros and cons for creators
Pros
- Free to join with no follower minimum.
- Published default rates, starting at $60 for a UGC video, far above most per-video apps.
- Payment is released from escrow after the brand approves.
- No fee on tips, express job earnings or product reimbursement.
Cons
- 20% fee on the free plan, and the headline rate is quoted before it.
- PayPal is the only payout option, and your PayPal address must match your profile.
- Weekly withdrawal cap on free accounts and up to 7 business days to process.
- You take the rate the job offers. Higher rates need a brand to post a level-specific campaign.
- Brands get unlimited usage rights to content they buy, so you are not licensing the work yourself.
Who should pick JoinBrands
JoinBrands is a good first stop if you have no audience and want paid UGC reps at a stated rate. It is a fair fit for a creator who can shoot several simple videos a week, since the work is repeatable and the pay path is clear. It is weaker if you already have followers, because the platform sets a flat job rate and takes 20% of it.
Many creators run it alongside direct pitching. Use JoinBrands for volume, then price your own work with our UGC pricing guide. The JoinBrands alternatives guide covers other platforms, mostly from the brand side.
Where Elev8or fits
Elev8or is our own platform, so weigh this accordingly. Creators can browse paid brand deals and pay-per-view bounties on the campaigns page, check UGC creator jobs, and join clipping bounties. It is free for creators to browse, and each campaign states its own rate and terms, so read them before you apply.
